Films will include classics and educational movies
The public is invited to step back in time during the showing of old movies every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 1 p.m. at the Boxcar Theater in the Linn County Historical Museum.
Museum coordinator Gary Timms said admission for the matinees is free, although donations to help defray expenses would be appreciated.
"We have many movies ranging from educational to old Laurel and Hardy and Marx Brothers comedies," Timms said. "We have quite a few Shirley Temple movies and westerns as well."
A sign and 29 seats from the community's original Linn Theater are included in the boxcar theater - so named because it is built inside a railroad boxcar.
"We hope this helps attract more people to the museum, so they can see what we have to offer," Timms said. "A lot of people don't know what this museum is really all about."
