ALBANY POLICE

Flowers stolen - Flowers, including fuchsia hanging baskets, were reported stolen Wednesday from two residences in the 3100 block of Jackson Street S.E.

Crash - Eastbound traffic on Santiam Highway was diverted at Center Street S.E. at about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday due to a traffic collision. Further information was not available this morning.

LINN COUNTY SHERIFF

Mailbox explosion - Someone used an explosive device to blow apart a plastic mailbox Wednesday morning in the 31000 block of Allen Lane in Tangent. The sheriff's office took a report and collected the remains of the explosive device.

Field damage - The sheriff's office took a report Wednesday about damage to the Scio High School football field. It appeared that someone had used a chemical to kill the grass to create an outline of a penis.

Electricity use - A small TV and VCR was found plugged in to an outside outlet behind Sodaville Evangelical Church on Wednesday. The items did not belong to the church and the sheriff's office seized them along with a backpack.

Crash - The driver of a 2005 Hyundai Accent was injured Wednesday evening in a single-vehicle crash on Old Holly Road near Highway 228. Brittany M. Ray, 16, of Sweet Home was taken to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital with minor injuries. The two passengers were not injured, according to the sheriff's office.

LEBANON POLICE

Alleged rape - Police on Wednesday arrested a 17-year-old boy for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl earlier this week.

Jeffrey Duane Allan Richter of Lebanon was being held at the Linn Benton Juvenile Detention Center on the charge of rape and a related offense.
