People arrested are innocent unless proven otherwise in court. Initial charges often change as a case progresses.

LINN COUNTY SHERIFF
Kidnapping interrupted - The sheriff's office arrested a Eugene man in Millersburg after he had allegedly kidnapped a woman and driven north on Interstate 5.
According to the sheriff's office, here's what happened:
The Linn County 911 center received a call about 2:15 a.m. Sunday. Dispatchers could hear yelling and screaming from a domestic incident but could not get any information as to what was happening or where the people were. The sheriff's office used GPS to track the call, which was made from a cell phone and learned that the people were traveling north on I-5.
First Sgt. Art Sprague spotted the people, a man and woman, in a vehicle near Millersburg and stopped them. The man took off running and a foot chase began. The man initially got away despite a search by deputies and a patrol dog.
The woman, who the sheriff's office learned was the victim of a kidnapping, had bite marks on her and was treated by medics.
When day shift deputies came on duty, they returned to Millersburg to look for the suspect. Deputy Craig Lyman found the man running near Conser Road. Other deputies and Albany police officers responded. A security man found the suspect inside a bathroom in a building.
Anthony Nauden, 26, was arrested without incident and taken to the Lane County jail, where he was lodged on charges of kidnapping and assault. Charges from Linn County are pending.
Attempted burglary - A tripped alarm at Central Linn High School about 2 a.m. Saturday resulted in three arrests.
Deputies responding to the alarm found three young men coming out a back door, carrying two amplifiers and a camera.
Jonathan Leroy Wayne Smith, 18, of Shedd was arrested on charges of first-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit a felony, second-degree theft and possession of burglar's tools. He was lodged in the Linn County Jail.
Kody Conrad, 16, and Joseph Maxwell, 17, were charged with first-degree burglary and taken to the county juvenile detention center.
