They are available at Albany City Hall, the Albany Visitors Association, and local bike shops
An updated bicycle and pedestrian map for Albany and the mid-valley is now available.
The free maps - which are free despite a $2 price on the cover - highlight bike lanes, trails and multi-use paths, city and county parks, and points of interest such as Peavy Arboretum and Oakville Community Church.
Printed on water- and tear-resistant paper, the fold-out map has Albany on one side and parts of Linn, Benton, Lane, Marion and Polk counties on the other.
Hills are marked to show their difficulty.
The regional map outlines several bicycling routes: Covered Bridge Tour, Strawberry Century and Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway, which runs from Champoeg State Park to Armitage Park north of Eugene.
The map was created by Linn County Geographic Information Systems, Albany GIS, and the Albany Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission.
More than 40 volunteers helped to verify the road data. Others involved in the printing and distribution were members of the Albany parks and recreation and public works departments.
The maps are available at Albany City Hall at the parks and recreation counter, the Albany Visitors Association, and local bike shops.
