Child neglect charge - A community service officer went to a camper at a mobile home park on Airport Road S.E. after getting a complaint about the condition of dogs there.
Police returned later to do a welfare check at the home after learning that a 13-month-old boy was living there with his mother.
Police said there was garbage including dirty diapers around the camper, and the sewer hose led to a bucket.
The child was placed into custody with the Oregon Department of Human Services. The mother was cited for second-degree child neglect.
She was also given one month to clean up the property which was in violation of city junk and trash codes.
Details about the condition of the dogs weren't available this morning. But at least one dog had a collar that was too tight, police said.
Car break-ins - Two locked vehicles in the 1500 block of Davidson Street S.E. were broken into sometime Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. Stolen items included CDs, FujiFilm digital camera, battery and cell phone chargers, money, tent frame, car cover and hand tools.
