ALBANY POLICE

Hit and run - Three vehicles were damaged by a Ford Ranger pickup being driven by an intoxicated driver at about 6 p.m. Monday, police said. No one was injured

According to police, the pickup struck a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville that was stopped at the intersection of Ninth Avenue and Ellsworth Street S.W.

The pickup continued to Ninth and Maple Street, where it hit a parked 1999 Nissan Maxima and pushed it into another parked vehicle, a Ford F350 pickup. Again, the driver continued.

Police found him about three blocks away at his home on Maple Street. He was arrested for driving under influence of intoxicants, hit and run, recklessly endangering and refusing to take a blood alcohol test.

Crash - There was a single-vehicle crash at about 11:13 p.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of Spring Hill Drive. No other details were available this morning.

Arrest - Police on Monday arrested Raushell Marie Palmer, 24, of Lebanon on one count of second-degree assault. Police said the arrest followed an incident that occurred March 25 in the bathroom at Lucky Larry's Lounge. A woman was in a bathroom stall when Palmer allegedly broke open the door, threw a glass of beer at the woman's face and repeatedly hit her. Police said there was a dispute over a man.

LINN COUNTY SHERIFF

Scam - A couple living near Corvallis has lost about $13,000 to scammers, according to the sheriff's office.

The victims, who are both 90 years old, thought they were winning a foreign lottery. They were told to send money to pay for taxes and attorney fees and they wired three separate transactions to a place in Canada.

The scammers, who contacted the couple mostly by phone, even pretended to be someone from the attorney general's office saying the lottery was legitimate.

The sheriff's office is taking a report. Deputies were contacted by Senior Services, which had been notified by a bank.

Crash - At about 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, a 1989 Honda Accord was traveling north on Brush Creek Road south of Crawfordsville when the driver lost control on a curve and the car hit an embankment on the other side of the road. The driver, Kimberly Nichole Pike, 20, of Sweet Home, was taken to the Lebanon hospital with a minor injury.

LEBANON POLICE

Burglary - Police on Saturday arrested two 15-year-old boys in connection with a break-in at a new business, The Pipeline, 1250 S. Main Street.

Police said that sometime before Saturday morning, a large rock was thrown through a window in the business and numerous glass smoking devices were stolen from display cases.

Police later went to a house in town after a parent of one of the boys discovered some of the stolen items at their home.

The estimated value of the damage to the building and the still-

missing items is between $1,000 and $1,500.

The boys were charged with burglary, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, minor in possession of tobacco and possession of prescription pills.

The investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sgt. Kevin Martinez at (541) 258-4305.

Skipping school - On Monday, a caller asked police to check a path near Mayfly Street and Mountain River Drive. The caller said she had found a trench the size of a body and a pile of rocks nearby. An officer checked the area but never found the ditch. The officer did, however, find two kids who were skipping school and told them to return.

SWEET HOME POLICE

Fight - Officers responded just before 5 p.m. Tuesday to a report of men fighting in the 1800 block of Cedar Street. Police arrested two men, ages 33 and 36, for disorderly conduct. The older man was also charged with harassment.

LEBANON FIRE

Sodaville fire - A double-wide mobile home at 38104 Vine St. in Sodaville suffered heavy damage Tuesday from a fire that started just after noon from a heat lamp outside the home.

Lebanon Fire Chief Dan Woodson said a clip-on heat lamp warming baby chicks outside the mobile home fell onto the chicks' wood chips and set them on fire. The blaze spread to the home and caused extensive damage, primarily to the bedroom area and into the ceiling.

Woodson said a father and his grown son were renting the mobile home and escaped uninjured. The chicks did not survive. It was unknown whether the family is insured.

Lebanon firefighters received the call at 12:12 p.m. Ten units and 15 firefighters responded.
