Albany Police

Knife pulled - A verbal argument in the 3400 block of Madison Street S.E. Tuesday at 4:45 p.m. allegedly escalated to a physical one. Witnesses told police a man pulled a knife on another man. The alleged victim said the man was looking at his girlfriend. When he told the passerby to stop looking, the passerby allegedly hit him and threatened him with a knife.

Russell Duane Hurlburt, 26, of Albany was arrested and booked on charges of menacing, harassment, unlawful use of a weapon and felon in possession of restricted weapon.

Linn County Sheriff

Youth identified - The young man who entered the Harrisburg library after hours to take some change and was spotted by a worker there has been identified through a yearbook. The 16-year-old was spotted by deputies in Harrisburg on Monday and taken to the Linn-Benton Juvenile Detention Center. He is charged with third-degree theft and second-degree burglary.

Brownsville burglary - A business on Bishop Way in Brownsville was broken into sometime before Monday morning, and cash was stolen. Entry was made through the bathroom window.
