Linn County Sheriff
Finger damage - A 51-year-old Albany man was transported to Oregon Health and Science University on Christmas morning after injuring two fingers on his left hand while cleaning a loaded .45-caliber handgun at a home in the 3600 block of Bryant Dr.
Vehicle found - Deputies recovered a stolen pickup belonging to North Coast Electric, 3139 Kathryn Ave. N.E., early Wednesday morning at a Knife River campus at 35973 Kennel Road S.E. in Albany.
North Coast employees reported the stolen vehicle at 7:30 a.m., but deputies had already recovered it around 5 a.m. after a security guard discovered it behind a locked fence and called police.
Stolen wire was found on the ground next to the abandoned vehicle. The value of the wire has not been determined, and deputies say the thieves may have stolen the car to use to steal the wire. The incident is still under investigation.
Albany Police
Theft - A man reported several items stolen between 5:20 and 9:20 p.m. Tuesday from his home in the 1200 block of 31st Avenue S.E.: A 30.06-caliber, semi-automatic Browning rifle with a Leupold scope, a Acer laptop and small jewelry. Loss value was not available this morning.
Lebanon Police
Items recovered - Officers Tuesday morning recovered a large black suitcase in the 800 block of E. Grant St. It contained a Super Nintendo with controllers and three games, a quartz rock candle holder, a hair straightener and a small gas tank.
Sweet Home Police
Arrest - Jay Lamar Humphries, 44, of Sweet Home was arrested at 1:30 a.m. Monday at a home in the 3200 block of Main St., the day after an officer spotted a marijuana plant in his home during a prior visit. He was booked later Monday morning at the Linn County Jail and faces felony charges of manufacturing marijuana, possession of meth and felon in possession of several knives.
Arrest - Officers on Monday arrested Randy Robert Sloniecki, 46, of Lebanon at his home in the 32000 of Sandridge Road and transported him to the Linn County Jail. He faces four misdemeanor charges and a first-degree felony burglary charge in connection with a domestic dispute reported on Dec. 23 at a home on Main Street in Sweet Home.
