Albany Police
Plymouth taken - Someone calling from the 2300 block of Queen Avenue S.E. said a blue 1993 Plymouth Acclaim with license plate 883 ADE had been stolen. The last time the owner saw the vehicle was Tuesday at about 11:30 p.m.
Honda stolen - A light brown 1992 Honda Accord with Oregon plates WJV 129 was reported stolen from the 1700 block of 15th Avenue S.E. on Wednesday. The owner believes the car was taken sometime after midnight that day.
Linn County Sheriff
Burglary - A woman told deputies she came home to the 4300 block of Waverly Drive N.E. at about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday and it appeared her home had been entered and cash stolen. She thought it happened between 4:45 p.m. and that time. Also stolen were two Aspire brand laptops, a Nikon digital camera, a Gateway laptop and assorted jewelry. Loss including the cash was estimated at $3,920.
Benton County Sheriff
Hwy. 20 crash - Two Albany drivers suffered minor injuries Wednesday evening in a two-car collision on Highway 20 at Scenic Drive in North Albany at about 7:15 p.m. According to Lt. Greg Ridler of the Benton County Sheriff's Office, Travis Pitts, 24, of Albany was headed east on Highway 20 in a 2006 Ford Focus when he swerved into the westbound lane to avoid hitting a deer. He collided with a 1995 Dodge Neon driven by Thomas Wilson, 21, also of Albany.
Pitts was transported to Samaritan Albany General Hospital and released, and Wilson suffered no serious injury, according to Ridler. No citations were issued and there were no reports of an injured deer.
