Bad money orders - Police were called Wednesday to the Wells Fargo bank, 2100 Pacific Blvd. S.E., where a man was caught trying to cash two international money orders for $945.75 each. The man was supposed to cash the orders and send some of the money to another person. Instead, police arrested the 19-year-old man on forgery charges and took him to the Linn County Jail.

Meth in the glove box - A deputy pulled over a 1995 Dodge Neon Thursday for stopping in a crosswalk at Fifth Avenue and Ellsworth Street in downtown Albany.

The driver had a suspended license, and when deputies searched the car, they discovered methamphetamine in the glove box. The driver, William Guy Long, 35, of Corvallis, was taken to the Linn County Jail on charges of possession and delivery of meth.

The passenger was also taken to the jail on an failure to appear warrant for possession of meth. Once inside the jail, deputies found meth concealed in her clothing.

Burglary - A shop and two campers in the 800 block of Wagon Wheel Drive near Lebanon were broken into sometime before Thursday. An all-terrain vehicle motor, exhaust pipes and a carburetor were stolen, along with a helmet, goggles, gloves, fishing tackle and an angle grinder. Value: $7,125.

Mount Hope burglary - The sheriff's office took a report Thursday of a shop in the 39000 block of Mount Hope Drive outside Lebanon that was broken into. Tools including a generator, saws, small power tools, welders and a ladder were stolen. Value: $3,135.

Sweet Home police

Drug search - As part of an ongoing drug investigation, police served a narcotics search warrant Thursday morning at 2455½ Long St.

Investigators said they found scales, packaging material and a substance suspected of being methamphetamine.

Two men were at the residence. One of them, Alan Eric Owens, 36, of Sweet Home, was arrested for possession of meth.

Lebanon police and the Linn County Sheriff's Office assisted. The investigation continues.
