The city of Albany Landmarks Advisory Commission will host a workshop on wooden window repair from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 18.

The workshop is at the home of Lori and Rick Melton, 418 Seventh Ave. S.W.

Preservationists will show how to make "stuck" windows operable, remove windows for repair, replace sash cords, repair dry rot, apply glazing putty, and install weather stripping.

Those going are encouraged to bring window sash or sills that need repair.

Space is limited for the workshop, and pre-registration is required by 5 p.m. Thursday, July 16. To register, call (541) 917-7560 or e-mail anne.catlin@cityofalbany.net.

The workshop is partially supported with funds from the Oregon State Historic Preservation Office.
