People arrested are innocent unless proven otherwise in court. Initial charges often change as a case progresses.
Albany police
Stolen vehicle - A 1990 Ford F250, extra cab, white with a white canopy and license plate YTY 881, was reported taken about 8 p.m. Friday from the parking lot of the Linger Longer tavern. No listed value.
Reckless driving - A White City man was arrested for reckless driving and attempt to elude after he "drove recklessly right past" a police patrol car in front of Clips 'N' Stuff, in the 2300 block of Waverly Drive S.E. Lights and sirens were activated but the driver continued onto Brookside Avenue S.E. He was eventually located at a Mountain View Drive S.E. address. Clinton O'Dell Schatz, 31, was arrested on two charges of reckless endangerment and one charge of felony attempt to elude. He is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 12.
Car vs. pedestrian - A pedestrian stepped into traffic and a driver was unable to stop before his 1997 Oldsmobile van collided with the pedestrian in the 400 block of Spring Hill Drive N.E. just before 8 p.m. Sunday. Speed was not a factor. Alcohol is believed to be a factor on the part of the pedestrian, John Rocky Conser, 37, a transient from Corvallis. He was transported by ambulance to the Albany hospital. The driver was Mathew Lyle Hill, 18, of Albany. Police shut down Spring Hill Drive from Highway 20 to Hickory Street N.W. for two hours as they investigated. The Linn County Sheriff's Office assisted.

Pellet gun threat - Linn deputies received a call Saturday from a man who said his sons told him they had been threatened and followed home from Scio Market on Friday by two older teenage boys with pellet guns.
According to a dispatch report, the younger boys said the older ones threatened to shoot them, first with the pellet guns and later with a handgun they claimed was real. The father told deputies he did not want to press charges, but wants the incident documented and the older boys found and warned.
Later Saturday, a caller in the 38700 block of N.W. Alder St., Scio, reported finding two pellet guns and a bottle of pellets under her vehicle. Deputies reported the guns match the description given in the earlier call. They were seized as found property. The investigation is continuing.
Motorcycle crash - A 60-year-old Lowell man received minor injuries about 11 a.m. Friday when he crashed on his 1979 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Quartzville Road.
The sheriff's office reported Steven D. Mock was headed east, coming around a corner, when he hit a crack in the pavement and lost control. Mock crashed on the gravel shoulder and cut his leg. An ambulance took him to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital for treatment.
Collision - A delivery truck and a Ford Edge collided Friday morning in the 20500 block of Powerline Road, injuring four people.
According to the sheriff's office, the truck driver, Pierre Machon, 31, of Springfield, said he was on his way to a delivery, traveling east on Bowers Road near Harrisburg, when he skidded through the stop sign onto Powerline. The Ford, driven by Darren Vinyard, 43, of Springfield was headed north on Powerline and not able to avoid striking the truck, which then slid into a ditch.
Vinyard and his wife, Jennifer, 30, and children Mackenzie, 8, and Katelyn, 14, were taken to Riverbend Hospital in Springfield to be treated for cuts and bruises. Machon was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
Left on tracks - A Harrisburg woman contacted the Linn County Sheriff's Office about 11 p.m. Friday to report her car had been stolen.
Dispatch reports said prior to deputies' arrival, the caller found her vehicle, locked, parked on the Union Pacific railroad tracks near LaSalle Street. The deputies were able to enter and move the car off the tracks. The investigation is continuing.
Burglary - A home in the 36000 block of Plagmann Drive was reported burglarized Saturday morning. Items taken included a silver HP Pavilion computer tower, coins from the 1800s, a Ruger .357 pistol with box of shells, a 20-inch flat screen Toshiba television, a silver coin from the Chicago World's Fair, World War II memorabilia, a 14-inch strand of pearls, a glass jewelry box and costume jewelry in a pink jewelry box. Estimated total loss: $2,235.
