SWEET HOME - Sweet Home will say goodbye to 162 graduating seniors at 7 p.m. Friday, June 8, at Husky Field.
The 2007 valedictorians are Sara Brocard, Stefani Crocker, Kristopher Schaefer, Erika Snow and Jill Marie Wilson. The salutatorian is Jessica Anne Trautwein.
An awards ceremony will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, and baccalaureate will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 6. The location for both will be announced later.
Each valedictorian earned a 4.0 grade point average.
Sara Elizabeth Brocard, daughter of Nancy and Joe Brocard of Sweet Home, is a member of the National Honor Society. She lettered for four years in softball and three in both volleyball and basketball. She earned a certificate from Linn-Benton Community College in the College Now Spanish courses. She plans to study chemistry with an emphasis in forensics at Southern Oregon University.
Stefani Nicol Crocker, daughter of Tim and Karolyn Crocker of Sweet Home, played varsity soccer and was on the varsity dance team and cheerleading squad. She was involved in leadership, was the class board officer and was on student council. She plans to study human anatomy at the University of Oregon.
Kristopher Michael Schaefer, the son of Michael and Karen Schaefer of Sweet Home, is a three-time letter winner in football and ran track for three years. He was involved in leadership for four years and served as class and school president. He was a Junior First Citizen Nominee and recieved the Rotary Youth Award. He plans to study fine arts at the University of Oregon.
Erika Caitlan Snow, daughter of Billy and Barbara Snow of Lebanon, played volleyball and basketball and ran track. She was named most inspirational player for varsity basketball and outstanding defensive player for volleyball. She was Linn County Junior First Citizen and Elks Most Valuable Student. She plans to study bio-resource research at Oregon State University.
Jill Marie Wilson, daughter of Sandi Wilson of Sweet Home, is a member of the National Honor Society and played varsity soccer. She participated in school plays, band and concert choir, and was a member of the Key Club. She received the Daughter of the American Revolution and Citizen's awards. She plans to attend the Discipleship Training School of the Youth With A Mission base in Lakeside, Mont., before traveling overseas on a mission trip.
Salutatorian Jessica Anne Trautwein, daughter of Jason Greer and Brenda Trautwein of Sweet Home, earned a 3.97 GPA. She participated in varsity cross country, swimming and track, and theater. She was vice-president of the Key Club, an outdoor school councilor, National Honor Society member, secretary of the Site Council, lunch buddy volunteer and SMART volunteer. She was on peer court and was a lifeguard. She plans to study mechanical engineering and minor in theater arts at the University of Portland in the ROTC program.
