Rollover - Two people were hospitalized early Saturday after the Jeep in which they were riding went into a ditch on Highway 226.

According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, the two were passengers in a 1981 Jeep CJ 5 headed toward Lyons shortly after midnight. The driver, James Henry Jantz, 22, of Scio lost control on a corner. He and the passengers "slid out" into a ditch on one side of the road, according to their statements, and the Jeep crashed in the ditch on the other side of the road.

One passenger was taken to Santiam Memorial Hospital and the other to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital, the sheriff's office said. Their identities and conditions were not available. Jantz, who was not hospitalized, was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Oregon State Police assisted and troopers are handling the investigation.

Burglary - A computer diagnostic scanner worth $4,000 was reported stolen Saturday morning from a gas station at 309 N. Third St., Harrisburg.

Chickens killed - A woman in the 100 block of Joy Street called the sheriff's office about 9:15 a.m. Saturday to report a neighbor's pit bulls had killed six chickens. Deputies warned the dog owner of "dog at large" laws and the two neighbors spoke together agbout restitution.

Arrest - Deputies arrested a 38-year-old Albany man on Friday in connection with an attempted robbery Aug. 17 at the Union 76 gas station on Highway 34.

In that incident, according to a sheriff's office report, a man wearing a black nylon cap and wielding a large pocket knife attempted to rob the station early that morning but left without taking anything.

The sheriff's office said deputies served a search warrant Friday and arrested Steve Brenner Bedolla, charging him with unauthorized use of a vehicle and attempted robbery. He was lodged in the Linn County Jail.
