The annual Mondays at Monteith concert series opens Monday at Albany's Monteith Riverpark, continuing each Monday evening through Aug. 11.
All concerts begin at 7 p.m. and admission is free, though donations are welcome.
This year's entertainment lineup:
July 7: Willamette Valley Concert Band. Under the direction of Dr. Richard Sorenson, this 50-piece community band will play everything from marches to Broadway show tunes and classical pieces and a few surprises.
July 14: Club 7 Jazz Band. Clarinetist Michael Almich leads a quartet in the sounds of the 1930s and 1940s, influenced by the musical greats of those years such as Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Woody Herman, Eddie Daniels and Bob Draga.
July 21: Misty River. Five women make up this Portland based group, blending folk, country and bluegrass. Misty River has performed throughout the Northwest since 1997.
July 28: Men of Worth. Donny Macdonald and James Keigher are international performers who have been touring for two decades. Their harmonies and a wide range of instruments support a vast collection of songs.
Aug. 4: Albany Swing Band. Some of the area's finest musicians get together for a variety of big-band swing and jazz.
Aug. 11: Corvallis Community Band. Directed by Steve Matthes, this band has entertained mid-Willamette Valley audiences for nearly 30 years. Member musicians include retired band directors, Oregon State University faculty and others.
Mondays at Monteith is sponsored by the Albany Democrat-Herald, Boehme & Running, LLC, Brookdale Senior Living, Edward Jones, KGAL-KSHO, Russ & Duffy Tripp, Tripp & Tripp Real Estate, and IBEW Local 280.
