ALBANY POLICE

Arrests - An Albany couple was arrested Wednesday in two separate incidents involving the same alleged victim.

According to police, here's what happened:

The Oregon Department of Human Services notified police Wednesday about the possible sexual abuse of an 18-year-old woman with developmental disabilities.

A detective investigated the allegations and arrested Gerald Bruce Henson, 51, of Albany, a man with whom the young woman was living. Henson was charged with sexual abuse and other related offenses, and lodged in the Linn County Jail.

Later on Wednesday, police received a call about Henson's wife, Kathy Ann, 44, allegedly beating the 18-year-old woman in a grocery store parking lot.

A responding officer tried to make a traffic stop on the vehicle Kathy Henson was driving but she continued to her home, where she was arrested for attempt to elude, tampering with a witness and harassment. She was also taken to the Linn County Jail.

The 18-year-old and two children at the couple's home were taken into protective custody.
