People arrested are innocent unless proven otherwise in court. Initial charges often change as a case progresses.

MARION COUNTY SHERIFF
Drowning update - The sheriff's office has identified Anthony Hannigan, 33, of Salem as the man who died Sunday while swimming in the Breitenbush River near Detroit.
Over the past few weeks there have been several water-related fatalities in Marion County, and the sheriff's office wants to remind people of these safety tips:
* Waterways often have cold water, swift currents and hidden dangers such as rocks and submerged trees, which can cause the water to have whirlpools, undertows and currents that can overpower the strongest of swimmers.
* Fatigue, cramps and swimmer's abilities are often factors in water fatalities. Never swim alone, always swim in approved areas, and close to shore.
* Life vests save lives and are not just for boating. Life vests should be worn by children whenever they are near waterways. Adults should wear life vests when swimming in lakes and rivers.
phone sought
Missing phone - The family of Christopher Lukesic is asking for help in finding his cell phone, which disappeared when he and his two young sons died in a car crash Aug. 2 on Highway 20 in North Albany.
The family says Lukesic had his phone with him at the time of the crash. The car landed in water but they don't believe the phone did because it was still working after the accident.
The phone has pictures on its memory card that the family would like. They have searched the area near the crash site and so far have been unsuccesful in finding it. The phone is a black and orange slider Samsung.
Anyone who might have picked up the phone or who has information about its whereabout is asked to call the family at 981-9432.
