ON THE EDGE
D-H motorcycle crew reports on their journey
The Democrat-Herald's Steve Lundeberg and David Patton are three days into their week-long motorcycle journey around the perimeter of the state.
Lundeberg says one of the highlights so far has been Cape Blanco, which he says is "unbelievably windy but really, really beautiful," and he thinks it's the most western point in Oregon.
He says they went to the hard-to-find memorial commemorating the spot where six people were killed by a Japanese balloon bomb in World War II near Bly. It's about halfway between Klamath Falls and Lakeview, up in the woods in the mountains. "It was pretty cool to actually be able to find that," he says.
They packed up camp in Lakeview this morning, and are heading to a ranch in Jordan Valley today.
