Anyone who missed Albany Civic Theater's, "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown," will have another opportunity to watch the popular Peanuts musical and help a 19-month-old child of Stayton.

The curtain will open for a one-time performance at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Stayton High School, 757 W. Locust St.

The show closed Saturday at ACT after a four-week run, but the cast and crew have decided to renew the show to assist Logan Newell of Stayton, who suffers from an inoperable brain tumor.

Spearheading the fundraiser is Heidi Kravitz, who plays Snoopy.

"I go to church with Logan's family," she said. "And I thought, 'We're in this great show, why can't we do this to raise some funds?' I was able to get the rights for the show, and everyone was willing."

Although the event is not sponsored by ACT, the theater is allowing the cast and crew to use the set and props from the show's run.

In addition to the performance, Snoopy's dog house and Lucy's psychiatrist booth will be auctioned.

Proceeds will go into an account to help Logan's parents, Ben and Megan Newell, pay for medical procedures, including MRIs to monitor the tumor's growth.

Because of his condition, Logan can only receive treatment at Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland; only a portion of the expenses are covered under the Newells' medical insurance.

Admission to the musical is by donation.
