ALBANY
Women's dinner will feature retired colonel
Col. Tom Greco (retired) will share his personal experiences leading an air assault infantry battalion task force in Iraq during Operation Desert Storm at the Albany Women's Connection dinner, 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. Wednesday at Spring Hill Country Club, 155 Country Club Lane.
The theme of the dinner is "Behind Enemy Lines." Cost is $16, inclusive.

Underwater photographer to speak
The Albany Kiwanis Club will host Ronald H. McPeak, an underwater photographer and researcher, when it meets at noon Thursday at Pop's Branding Iron, 901 Pacific Blvd S.E.
The public is welcome.
McPeak is president and owner of Global Biological Consultants of Battle Ground, Wash.
Since the 1960s he has done research in cold waters from Alaska to Baja California, Chile, Peru, Argentina, Iceland, Norway, France, Nova Scotia, South Africa and New Zealand.
He is internationally known for many firsts in underwater photography, including diving off Grand Cayman Island in 1965.
McPeak's photographs and research projects have been displayed at the Smithsonian and the National Aquarium in Baltimore. He is the author of two science books and has published numerous articles and scientific papers on subjects from marine biology to herpetology.

Pioneer School, 500 N. Fifth St., will hold registration from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.
