Motorcycle show planned at mall
The Hub City chapter of A.B.A.T.E., a motorcycle organization, will hold what it calls a family-friendly motorbike show Saturday and Sunday at the Heritage Mall. The goal is to raise awareness about motorcycles.
There will be games and activities for children, including instant photos on some of the bikes.

Will Tucker campaign to meet
The Elect Will Tucker Committee will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rhythm & Brews, 229 Third Ave. S.W. Organizers will have materials to hand out, and lawn signs will be available. The committee is coordinating with the Linn County Republicans office to pass out all of the Republican candidate materials.

PFLAG to hold monthly meeting in Albany
PFLAG (Parents and Friends of Lesbian, Gay, Bi and Transgendered People) will hold its monthly meeting in Albany in November to encourage attendance by those living in that area who have a hard time coming to the Corvallis meetings. The meeting is at 6:45 p.m. Monday at Ray's Food Place, 621 Hickory St. N.W.
All are welcome, and you don't have to be a member to attend. No speaker is planned, so the participants will just visit with each other.
PFLAG's Holiday Potluck will be Dec. 8 at the First United Methodist Church in Corvallis.

Activist to share experiences in West Bank
Local human rights activist Joshua Hough will share some of his experiences Sunday from two years as a volunteer in the West Bank through dramatic reading, photos and discussion. Hough worked with Christian Peacemaker Teams in the South Hebron Hills. His talk is titled "Who Brings The Darkness? Voices From Inside the Storm of Occupation, Resistance and Terrorism in Israel and Palestine."
The talk will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the Martha Room of the First United Methodist Church, 11th and Monroe. The free event is sponsored by Corvallis-Albany Friends of Middle East Peace.

Benton candidate to speak to GOP women
Republican Benton County Commissioner candidate Chris Nusbaum will be the keynote speaker at the Benton County Republican Women meeting at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Republican headquarters, 908 N.W. Circle Blvd., behind Citizens Bank.
A panel discussion will follow on ballot measures.
Members of the panel are Nusbaum, John Detweiler, candidate for Corvallis City Council in Ward 6; Mark O'Brien, candidate for Corvallis City Council in Ward 1; and Jean Nelson, the Republican Women representative on measures.
Guests are asked to bring finger food or a dessert to share and an optional brown bag lunch for yourself.
