ALBANY POLICE

Church burglary - About $1,000 worth of items were stolen Tuesday from Maranatha Christian Fellowship in the 1900 block of Geary Street S.E. The church is in the process of moving into Two Rivers Market.

According to police, the pastor of the church drove by the Geary Street building and saw two men loading church supplies into a copper-colored mini van with license 389 CHU. The pastor spoke with the men and when he went to call for help they took off. Police are investigating.

Items stolen include espresso machines, tools, Coleman folding camping chairs, a bookshelf, a wooden table and extension cords.

Head-on crash - Two vehicles crashed head on at about 9:45 p.m. Monday on the railroad tracks at Queen Avenue and Washington Street S.E.

Brian John Strupith, 40, of Albany was cited for failure to stop for a railroad signal, improper lane use and careless driving. He had minor injuries.

The other driver, Merle Allen Cude, 25, of Harrisburg was taken to the Albany hospital with minor injuries. He was then arrested on outstanding failure to appear warrants and taken to the Linn County Jail.

Heat pump stolen - A heat pump worth $2,800 was stolen from the 2800 block of Cedarwood Court S.E. Police took a report Tuesday.

LEBANON POLICE

Possessions stolen - Police received a call Monday from a woman who said she had just returned home after getting out of jail and found her apartment had been burglarized. She told police that her apartment has been emptied and she could see all her possessions in a neighbor's house. Police were investigating.

SWEET HOME FIRE

Kitchen fire - The Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District responded to a call at an apartment in the 2400 block of Long Street around 2:50 p.m. Tuesday. Sweet Home police blocked traffic. Smoke from a pan left on a stove caused the complaint. The incident caused no damages or injuries.
