ALBANY

Movie series continues with 'Inspector General'

The Albany Downtown Association, in collaboration with the Pix Theatre, will kick off the second half of the annual Movies by Moonlight series Friday night with the 1949 Technicolor musical-comedy "The Inspector General," starring Danny Kaye.

This is the fifth year for the free movie series, which start at dusk. The parking lot behind Wyatt's Eatery and Brew House is closed off and people are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs to watch the movies projected on the back wall of the Albany Eagle's Lodge.

Still to be shown this year are "The Big Trees," a rugged outdoor adventure film from 1950 starring Kirk Douglas on Aug. 18; and the recent family classic "Nanny McPhee," on Aug. 31.

For more information, contact the Albany Downtown Association at 928-2469 or visit albanydowntown.com.
