ALBANY

Senior Center to close for maintenance

The Albany Senior Center will be closed March 26-30 so that worn carpeting can be replaced and other maintenance work done.

Meals on Wheels will use the center's kitchen in the mornings to prepare meals for clients as usual. No lunches will be served at the center that week, however.

Volunteer income tax preparers who are at the center Monday, Wednesday and Friday through tax season will be in Suite 209 at Two Rivers Market, 250 Broadalbin St. S.W, on March 26, 28 and 30. The room is to the left at the top of the stairs and elevator. The tax preparers will return to the center on Monday, April 2.

No regularly scheduled Linn-Benton Community College classes are planned at the center that week because of spring break. Other regular weekly activities - pinochle, bridge, book club, stampers and stitchers - will take the week off or meet at a member's home.

New carpet will be laid in the meeting, activity, computer, sports and pool rooms; the lobby; foyer; hallway; and staff office areas. Cost of the carpet replacement is $26,000.
