People arrested are innocent unless proven otherwise in court. Initial charges often change as a case progresses.
ALBANY POLICE
Drug raid - Police served a search warrant early Wednesday morning at 1969 Lockwood Place S.E. Investigators said they found a dealer amount of methamphetamine, more than 100 prescription pills, marijuana, scales, packaging materials and drug records. They also found stolen property, including a vacuum and a kitchen appliance that had been shoplifted from stores and still in their packaging.
Residents Michael Bently Halberg, 54, and Crystal Lee Azril, 47, were charged with frequenting a place with controlled substances, unlawful possession of meth, delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, and possession and delivery of prescription medicines. They were lodged in the Linn County Jail.
Michael Lee Johnson, 21, and Elisha Betty Gilharry, 22, both of Albany, and Kandia Marie Sweet, 36, of Eddyville, were each charged with unlawful possession of meth. They were booked at the jail and released.
Another woman was cited at the house for frequenting a place with controlled substances.
LINN COUNTY SHERIFF
Narcotics search - Deputies searched for drugs Thursday evening at a house at 2114 Linn Ave. N.E. in Albany.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies found a dealer amount of methamphetamine, scales, cash, packaging materials, drug paraphernalia, police scanners and audio/video surveillance equipment.
Deputies also found stolen hydraulic equipment, power tools and a laptop computer. The tools had been shoplifted and the computer was stolen in a burglary, according to the sheriff's office.
Jeffery Lynn Caudill, 51, who lives at the house, was lodged in the Linn County Jail on charges of possession and delivery of meth. Other charges are pending and there may be more arrests.
The sheriff's office was assisted by Albany and Lebanon police.
Burglary arrest - Deputies responded to a call Wednesday evening about a burglary at a home on Old Hufford Road, outside Sweet Home. Two rifles and two coins were reported stolen.
Deputies spoke to a man down the road from the house who said he was cutting wood with two other men when their pickup got stuck, according to a sheriff's office report. After further investigation the deputies spoke to the man again, this time on Highway 20 near Quartzville Road.
Michael Jeffery McGinnis, 49, of Sweet Home was arrested on charges of burglary and theft, and cutting and transporting minor forest products.
The two rifles were located on a spur road about three miles away from where they were stolen and returned to the owner.
OREGON STATE POLICE
Crash - Two drivers sustained minor injuries when their vehicles collided at about 7 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Highway 34 and Columbus Street.
According to state police, Darryl Martin Robinson Sr., 38, of Albany was in a 2003 Hyundai and turning left from Columbus Street onto Highway 34. He collided with a 2005 GMC Yukon, driven by Barbara Louise Tarrant, 59, of Lebanon, who was traveling west on the highway. Both drivers were taken to Samaritan Albany General Hospital. Robinson was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
The Linn County Sheriff's Office, the Oregon Department of Transportation, and Albany and Lebanon fire departments assisted.
