The British rock group Herman's Hermits, starring Peter Noone, will headline the 24th season of the River Rhythms concert series in Albany this summer.

The free concerts start at 7 p.m. at Monteith Riverpark and run on Thursdays from July 5 to Aug. 16.

The Albany Parks and Recreation Department announced the lineup Thursday:

July 5, Pat Green: The Texas native got his country music start attending college. His latest release is "Cannonball," and his single "Dixie Lullaby" was in the top spot for more than seven weeks on the CMT's 12 Pack Countdown.

July 12, The Coats: The a cappella pop group began on the street corners of Seattle. The four-member group makes frequent trips to the mid-valley.

July 19, Eddie Money: The rock and roll icon has been making music since the mid-1970s with hits such as "Baby, Hold Onto Me" and "Two Tickets to Paradise." He'll also perform at the Linn County Fair & Expo Center in conjunction with the fair.

July 26, Curtis Salgado: The Portland-based blues, soul and R&B singer/songwriter is said to be the inspiration behind the creation of the Blues Brothers characters.

Aug. 2, Geno Delafose: He plays zydeco, the popular music of the Creoles who have lived alongside the Cajuns for centuries in south Louisiana.

Aug. 9, the Fabulous Thunderbirds: The group has such hits as "Tuff Enuff" and "Wrap It Up."

Aug. 16, Herman's Hermits: The group was part of the British Invasion of the 1960s, gaining fame with hits such as "I'm Into Something Good," "I'm Henry VIII, I Am," and "Mrs. Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter."

The blanket seating area at Monteith Riverpark opens at 4 p.m., while concertgoers who prefer to sit in chairs can set them up as early as the morning of the concert. Food booths open at 5 p.m.

No pets are allowed in the park during performances, and smoking is permitted in designated areas only.
