SWEET HOME - Oregon Jamboree organizers today announced a partial lineup of country music artists for this year's concert series, Friday, Aug. 1, through Sunday, Aug. 3.
The three headline performers named in the schedule are Sugarland on Friday night, Randy Owen Saturday night and Trace Adkins wrapping up the festival Sunday evening.
Also in the lineup: Trent Tomlinson, Confederate Railroad, Rissi Palmer, Kellie Pickler, Joe Nichols and Phil Stacey.
Jamboree Director Peter LaPonte said he hopes to finish the complete lineup of 13 concerts by next month. Four time slots still need to be filled.
"It's really a daunting task to try and get 13 good shows on a summer weekend in the West because most of these shows are routed through the country," LaPonte said. "When they go to the West, it's usually once a year."
Now in its 16th year, the jamboree hosts RV and tent camping, food booths, beer and wine gardens, children's performers and more. The Sweet Home Economic Development Group produces the event, and proceeds benefit local economic development projects and charitable programs.
Gates open at 1:30 p.m. Friday and the first concert starts at 3. Trent Tomlinson starts at 7, followed by the female vocal duo that makes up Sugarland.
Confederate Railroad takes the stage at noon on Saturday. That day's grand finale starts at 8:45 with Alabama frontman Randy Owen.
Sunday performances start at noon with Phil Stacey and Trace Adkins gives the last 2008 prformance at 6:30. His most recent hit is "Honky-Tonk Badonkadonk."
Adult general admission is $105 for three days, and $70 for one day. For children ages 7-12 it's $25 for three days and $12 for one day.
Children age 6 and under get in for free with an adult.
Weekend RV or tent camping is $70.
