Downtown classes set for Saturday

The Albany Downtown Association will hold its sixth Learn Something New Day on Saturday at 10 locations in downtown Albany.

Association Director Rick Rogers said classes range from 45 minutes to an hour and will be offered at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Pre-

registration is not required.

The classes will introduce participants to the variety of businesses that also offer regularly scheduled classes or services. Saturday's classes will be at:

* Surefire Designs, 201 Second Ave. S.W., introduction to ceramic painting.

* The Quilt Loft, 405 First Ave. S.W., make and take potholders.

* Two-Rivers Fly Shop, 204 First Ave. S.W., introduction to tying fishing flies.

* Frogs and Pollywogs, 222 First Ave. S.W., making kiddie crafts.

* Spearit Beads, 331 Second Ave. S.W., making earrings and zipper pulls.

* Oregon Language Center, 237 Third Ave. S.W., a foreign language sampler.

* Glass Magic Images, 133 Broadalbin St. S.W., introduction to stained-glass soldering.

* The Apothecary, 225 Broadalbin St. S.W., understanding candles.

* Full House Furniture, 213 First Ave. S.E., achieving the WOW! Factor for your home.

* Sunny Patch Boutique, 121 Broadalbin St. S.W., make and take refrigerator magnets (children should bring a small photo).
