People arrested are innocent unless proved otherwise in court. Initial charges often change as a case progresses.
Jefferson fire
Brush fire - Jefferson firefighters responded Friday at about 5 p.m. to an out of control brush fire south of Jefferson at the residence of Ted Maynard, 34202 Parkwoods Drive.
According to Assistant Chief Scott Shepherd, the fire burned about an eighth of an acre of brush and a couple of trees.
Friday was the last day for residential backyard burning. The only burning allowed from now on will be agricultural burning on a day-to-day basis which is by agricultural permit only. The next residential backyard burn season is scheduled for Oct. 15, depending on DEQ regulations or fire restrictions related to lack of moisture.
Linn County Sheriff
Theft - A man came to the sheriff's office Friday morning to report the theft of a gun from his home in the Millersburg area. The gun is a Ruger 10/22 .22 cal. rifle with a scope, synthetic stock and stainless steel body, approximate value $225.
Theft - Someone reported a firearm stolen Friday at about 7:30 p.m. from a vehicle parked in the 48400 block of Quartzville Road. The gun is a Ruger 9 mm with a canvas holster and two magazines with 10 rounds in each. No listed value.
Oregon State Police
Injury accident - A Lebanon woman was hurt Thursday in a collision on Highway 226.
According to Joyce Marie Miller, 71, was attempting to turn left from the eastbound lanes of Highway 226 when her Toyota Camry was struck by a westbound Honda Odyssey van.
Miller was taken to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital, where she was treated and released. The driver of the van, Glenn Alan Lister, 48, of Eugene was not hospitalized.
Sweet Home police
Arrest - Jessica Ashley Lancaster, 18, of Sweet Home was arrested Friday on charges of first-degree burglary and fourth-degree misdemeanor assault. She was taken to Linn County Jail; court information was not yet available.
