OAKRIDGE (AP) - Police are looking for a 47-year-old Oakridge man missing since he failed to appear at work Sept. 7. A relative said John Wesley Hicks last was seen when he dropped his dog, Bear, off at a friend's house as usual on the way to his job.
He usually then walked through Osprey Park to do labor, landscaping or fence work for his landlord. Authorities say he is 5-foot-8 with closely cropped blond hair and blue eyes with a diminished mental capacity.
"We've checked everybody he knew, we've double-checked everybody he knew,'' Oakridge Deputy Police Chief Dale Scobert said.
Hicks has disappeared to go camping before but always took his dog, searchers said.
