Slithery trespass - A man called police Tuesday afternoon and said there was snake in his driveway that was making him uncomfortable.

A community service officer responded to the home in the 1900 block of Summerfield Court S.W., and found that the "subject" - a 12-inch garter snake - was still "trespassing."

The officer wrote in a short report that the snake was "taken into custody, transported to a nearby field and released without incident." The officer told the man that although the snake was scary, it was not dangerous.
