People arrested are innocent unless proven otherwise in court. Initial charges often change as a case progresses.
Albany Police
Arrest - Mikeal Lee Strawn, 44, of Albany was arrested Friday in the 900 block of Airport Road on charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, and fourth-degree assault after he allegedly broke down his neighbors' door and assaulted them after a verbal argument. The victims suffered bumps, bruises and abrasions after the punches and pushing. They called police and directed them to Strawn's parents' home, where he lives.
Linn County Sheriff
Bat to head - A visiting Georgia man suffered injuries after his sister's boyfriend hit him in the head with a baseball bat in the 41000 block of Baptist Church Drive sometime around 4:30 a.m. Monday. Allegedly, the boyfriend, who has not yet been charged as he has not been located, came upon the brother and sister engaged in some sort of sexual activity. The boyfriend then struck the brother with a bat. The boyfriend fled. The brother was transported and treated for his injuries. Police say the sister was uncooperative.
Millersburg car prowls - At least 14 vehicles in the Millersburg area were entered unlawfully Sunday morning. Most victims reported only loose change stolen, but one lost an MP3 player valued at $230. Deputies say nearly all the vehicles hit had unlocked doors or a window partially down.
Theft - Hendrix Heating contacted deputies Thursday to report the theft of a laptop computer and $300 cash. The investigation is continuing.
Criminal mischief - The Natural Resource Conservation in Tangent reported someone cut a hole in the compound's chain-link fence, drilled into the gas tank of a government-owned pickup and drained the gas. Deputies are providing extra patrol.
Meter damaged - Deputies are investigating vandalism to equipment in an irrigation ditch in the 45600 block of Snow Peak Mainline Road. A solar-powered flow meter was damaged and a fish screen brush and two 2x10 boards were stolen. Estimated loss: more than $3,000.
Burglary - A home in the 2300 block of Fuller Lane was reported broken into Friday. Among the stolen items: a DVD/VCR player, 200 DVDs, approximately 108 Nintendo 64 games, Vivitar 35 mm camera with multiple lenses, Dale Ernheart memorabilia and two Craftsman toolboxes. Estimated total loss: more than $1,550.
Four-wheeler wreck - Linn deputies and Sweet Home medics responded about 1 p.m. Friday to a report of a male injured in a four-wheeler wreck on Sodafork Road east of Sweet Home. One person was taken to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center for treatment of a broken leg. No further information was available.
Sweet Home Police
Arrest - Sweet Home police responded to a domestic dispute Thursday evening and charged Tanna Rena Thompson, 49, with fourth-degree assault. She was lodged in the Linn County Jail.
Juvenile referred - Police officers took a male juvenile into custody early Friday morning on charges of sexually abusing a dog. The boy was released to a parent and referred to the Linn County Juvenile Department.
