ALBANY

SAHS choirs to give winter concert

South Albany High School's music department will present its winter choral concert, "Winter in the Rain," at 7 p.m. Tuesday on the main campus of Linn-Benton Community College, in the Russell Tripp Performance Center, 6500 Pacific Blvd. S.W.

It will feature the three choirs: the RebelSingers, Rebelation! and Concert Choir. A wide variety of winter music will be performed by all ensembles, highlighted by the RebelSingers with several Derric Johnson arrangements of standard carols.

Donations will be accepted for St. Mary's Soup Kitchen in Albany.

Library to host homeownership workshop

A free public workshop for would-be first-time homebuyers will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Albany Public Library, 1390 Waverly Drive S.E.

Anna Balkema with the nonprofit Willamette Neighborhood Housing Services will provide information about programs to aid low- and moderate-income families who want to buy a home.

Open house set for new veterans office

Operation Homefront and the Veteran's Commemoration Association will host an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday at the Red Caboose, 230 Ellsworth St. The open house is a celebration of the use of office space in the Red Caboose.

Divorce is focus of 'Parents Forever' class

Linn-Benton Mediation Service will sponsor a "Parents Forever" class from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the upstairs conference room at Two Rivers Market, 250 Broadalbin St. S.W., Albany.

The class is designed to help parents learn how to make informed, child-supportive decisions during a divorce or separation. Topics include: the impacts of divorce on children and adults, legal issues and the role of mediation in divorce, and pathways to a new life.

The class costs $30 and registration is required.

LEBANON

Senior health fair will feature many agencies

The Lebanon Century Fields Retirement and Assisted Living Community is hosting a health fair from 2 to 4 p.m Friday at Century Fields, 181 S. Fifth St.

Representatives from Linn Benton RSVP programs including SHIBA, Senior Peer Counseling, and Tax Aide will be available. Also attending are Senior Services, Living Well with Chronic Conditions, and SALT.
