Portland blues, soul and R&B singer/songwriter Curtis Salgado will bring his high-energy music to Albany at 7 p.m. Thursday as part of the 24th annual River Rhythms concert series.
Salgado lived in Eugene as a young man and befriended John Belushi, becoming the inspiration for the "Blues Brothers" characters. He has also performed with the Robert Cray Band, singing lead on Cray's debut album. Salgado has been named Best Male Vocalist by the Cascade Blues Society nine times since 1989.
The blanket seating area opens at 4 p.m. Those who want to sit in chairs can set them up earlier in the day. Local food vendors will offer items for sale, and children can take part in art activities prior to the show.
No pets are allowed in the park during the performance.
