Well water class will include sample tests

The Sweet Home Rotary Club and the Oregon State University Extension Service Well Water Program will offer free well water tests for Sweet Home area residents who attend a well management class from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Sweet Home School District administration building board room.

Tests will be offered to the first 32 households to pick up sample bottles. Bottles can be obtained at the Sweet Home Boys & Girls Club or the Sweet Home Forest Service Ranger Station. The water will be tested for nitrates, coliform bacteria and arsenic.

Area residents who do not pick up sample bottles may still attend the class and have their well water tested for nitrates free of charge. To do so, they should bring a half-cup of untreated well water to the class in a clean, water-tight container.
