TANGENT - Fire investigators are looking into whether two pallet fires in Tangent over the weekend were intentionally set.
No one was injured in either fire.
Tangent Fire Chief Stan Parker said 39 firefighters responded to a call at 4:26 a.m. Saturday about wood pallets on fire outside Barenbrug, 33477 Highway 99E. Tangent firefighters were assisted by Albany, Lebanon, Corvallis and Halsey firefighters.
The fire damaged a nearby semi-truck.
Just after midnight Saturday, firefighters responded to a similar fire that was burning pallets outside Ampac Seed Company, 32727 Highway 99E.
Parker said it's believed the fires were intentionally set. However, the exact cause of the blazes is still under investigation by the Linn Benton Fire Investigation Task Force.
