LEBANON - The Lebanon School Board will interview five candidates for the position of interim superintendent next week and may choose to offer the job at that time.
Interviews will be held in public as part of special meetings scheduled for
7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the district office, 485 S. Fifth St.
The candidates are Al Davidian, who served as an interim superintendent for the Vernonia School District; George Lanning, a former superintendent who most recently was principal of the McLaren Youth Correctional Facility in Woodburn; Seven Oak Middle School Principal Ed Sansom, who was a superintendent in St. Regis, Mont.; Bob Sari, who last served as an interim superintendent in the Crane School District; and Rob Thomason, who was superintendent in Nenana, Alaska, and had been a technology director in Forest Grove.
Board members plan to deliberate in closed session following Wednesday's interviews and may choose to begin negotiating a contract as part of that deliberation, said Betsy Miller-Jones, the Oregon School Boards Association consultant who is working with the board on the search.
Board members have said they want someone in place by Dec. 1.
The interim superintendent will replace former superintendent Jim Robinson, who resigned Oct. 6 as part of a settlement agreement with the board. OSBA will assist board members with a search for a full-time replacement, although it has not yet been decided when that person will start.
