Missing Albany man found dead

Neil R. Hebert, 61, of Albany was found dead late this morning on Marys Peak, the victim of an apparent suicide, according to Benton County Emergency Services.

After searching most of the day Tuesday, Siuslaw National Forest Service officers contacted Benton County Search and Rescue to report an unoccupied white sport utility vehicle left at the top of Marys Peak sometime between Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday. The vehicle is registered to Hebert.

Benton County Search and Rescue volunteers from Benton County Amateur Radio Emergency Services, Corvallis Mountain Rescue Unit, Marys Peak Search and Rescue, Benton County Sheriff's Mounted Posse and Yamhill County's K9 Special Teams searched through the evening and this morning until Hebert was found.
