ADAIR VILLAGE - Santiam Christian High School will send off its graduating Class of 2007 at 7 p.m. June 2 in the school gymnasium. Admission is by ticket only.

Valedictorians Jacob Blakely and Stefanie Smucker and salutatorians Jordan Heater and Anna Sherman will speak at commencement.

Baccalaureate was held Sunday at Corvallis Church of the Nazarene.

Both valedictorians graduated with a 4.0 grade point average.

Jacob Blakely is the son of Charles and Rosemary Blakely of Corvallis. He was a National Merit Scholar Finalist; DECA Vice President for 2005-06 (he earned the DECA International Award of Excellence in Sports Marketing in 2006); WVL Scholar Athlete; OSAA Scholar Athlete and Activity Scholar; Santiam Christian Outstanding Student in Calculus, Computer Applications and American Literature in 2006 and English Literature in 2007; ACSI Distinguished Student (Academics, Leadership & Athletics). He played varsity soccer for four years and was co-captain and earned All-League Honorable Mention in 2006, and he was a three-year varsity track letterman. After graduation, he plans to double major in physics and literature in the University of Oregon Honors College.

Stefanie Smucker, daughter of Mark and Laurie Smucker of Harrisburg is a member of Student Council, National Honor Society and Sold Out Evangelistic Drama Team. She played varsity volleyball and varsity basketball, and earned the Eagle Award in basketball. She is an OSAA Scholar Athlete, Pac West Scholar Athlete, SCHS Outstanding Student in English Literature and ACSI Distinguished Student (Academics and Christian Service). She also earned the Society of Women Engineers Merit Award. After high school she plans to attend a Youth with a Mission (YWAM) Discipleship Training School in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The school's two salutatorians also graduated with 4.0 GPAs.

Jordan Heater, son of Rob Heater and Debbie Heater of Corvallis, competed in varsity soccer and varsity track. He served as DECA Chapter President, and was named DECA International Finalist, OSAA Scholar Athlete, SCHS Outstanding Student (Spanish IV and Marketing) and ACSI Distinguished Student (Academics, Leadership, Athletics, and Christian Service). He also participated in the Sold Out Evangelistic Drama Team. Next year he plans to major in Spanish in the Oregon State University Honors College.

Anna Sherman is the daughter of Ed and Carmen Sherman of Corvallis. She played varsity soccer and basketball, and was named OSAA Scholar Athlete, West Valley League Scholar Athlete and Pac West Scholar Athlete. She served as National Honor Society Vice President, and was named National Merit Commended Student, Who's Who Among American High School Students, ACSI Distinguished Christian High School Student (Academics, Leadership, Fine Arts, Athletics and Christian Service), National Society of High School Scholars and SCHS Outstanding Chemistry and American Literature Student 2006 and Calculus and Foods 2007. She was a Court of Hearts Princess and Homecoming Queen, and volunteers in the Good Samaritan Emergency Department. She intends to major in biology at the University of Portland and then go on to medical school.
