Corvallis - Jerry J. Jackson Sr. has filed for the Republican nomination for Benton County Commissioner, Position 1, in the primary on May 18, 2010.
The position is held by Commissioner Linda Modrell, a Democrat. No one else has filed for the post.
Jackson, 53, works as a code enforcement officer for Polk County. He is the president of the Philomath City Council. A native of Grass Valley, Calif., he and his family have lived in Philomath since 1992.
