Lillian A. Coakley, 88, of Lebanon passed away Friday at the Brookstone Care Facility in Salem.
Lillian was born in Monowi, Neb., the daughter of Anton and Antonette (Synovec) Wecker. She lived in Nebraska throughout her childhood, where she attended and completed her schooling. She married Leonard Coakley in Butte, Neb., in 1938. In 1952, they moved their family to Lebanon, where she has resided for most of her adult life.
Lillian was a member of the Lebanon First United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed being active for many years. She enjoyed volunteering for the Salvation Army and volunteered to be a Linn County election worker for many years. She loved all people, enjoyed gardening and writing letters to friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard on May 15, 1996.
She is survived by her daughter, Twila Coakley of Waldport; sons Larry and Darrell of Lebanon, and Harold Coakley of Lakeport, Calif.; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and lifelong friend and sister-in-law, Mildred Coakley.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Lebanon First United Methodist Church. A private interment will be in the Lebanon IOOF Cemetery.
