Frances Robson Brown, 80, of Albany died Sunday at Samaritan Albany General Hospital.
Fran was born in Portland, the daughter of John Hardy and Lora Grace (Cramer) Robson. She graduated from Commerce (now Cleveland) High School. She also graduated from the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree.
She married Larry Brown in 1953 in Portland and as newlyweds the couple moved to Albany.
Fran was very active and involved in her children's activities, including Girl Scouts, Job's Daughters, Boy's Club baseball and the Parent Teacher Association.
Fran worked as a teacher's assistant in the special education department at West Albany High School from 1979 to 1986.
Fran enjoyed traveling to Palm Springs, Calif., each year, spending nearly two months there each winter. She was also an avid University of Oregon fan.
Fran was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Albany Christian Women, Red Hat Society and the Willamette Duck Club.
Fran is survived by two children, Lori Rush of Sherwood and Don Brown of Meridian, Idaho; three grandchildren, Alex Brown, Megan Brown and Trina Rush Burdge; and four great-grandchildren, Kylie, Kiara, Aiden and Alysia Burdge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, on Nov. 3, 2003.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church, with a graveside service to follow at 3 p.m. at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens.
