Chester Lysle Smith, 92, of Lebanon died Oct. 29 at The Oaks in Lebanon.
He was born in Albany to David and Grace (Holly) Smith.
During World War II he served as an aerial gunner instructor. He was a longtime member of the American Legion.
Chester is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mable Smith; daughter Lynette White of Lebanon; three stepchildren, Larry Weirich of Las Vegas, Richard Weirich of Lebanon and Marlene Splawn of Springfield; 11 grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion, 480 Main St., Lebanon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Salvation Army.
