Marjorie D. Potts, 84, formerly of the Brownsville and Lebanon areas, passed away Friday surrounded by family at her home in Newport.
Marjorie was born in Albion, Neb., to Ruby and George Cone. The family moved to Oregon in October 1943.
On Feb. 25, 1952, she married Robert D. Potts in Vancouver, Wash.
A loving mother and homemaker Marjorie enjoyed dancing, gardening, ceramics, a variety of arts and crafts and, most of all, her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by daughters Margory Barber of Eugene, Cheryl Jaross of Seattle and Tana Penfold of Brownsville; sons Raymond Potts of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Robert D. Potts II and wife Sue Ann Potts of Newport; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Shirley Schmidt and Twyla Earp, both of Lebanon.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert Potts; her parents; sister Ruth Gould; brother Tyler Cone; daughter Christie L. Penfold; and an infant grandson.
A private family inurnment will be at Willamette Memorial Park near Albany. Huston-Jost Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
A memorial gathering open to extended family and friends will be from
1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 11 at 33030 Tennessee Road, Lebanon, the home of her sister.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association and/or hospice.
