Elsie E. Tripp, 83, of Albany died Saturday at Timberwood Court in Albany.

She was born in Albany, the daughter of R.W. and Elsie (Powell) Tripp. Her grandparents came to Linn County by wagon train in 1852 to '53.

Elsie graduated from Albany High School in 1942. She attended Willamette University and completed her education at the University of Washington in Seattle. She worked at the University of California Medical School in San Francisco. She enjoyed collecting antiques.

Elsie is survived by her brothers, Rodney and Russell Tripp of Albany; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by sisters Miriam Tripp, Virginia Buchanan and Barbara Bryant.
