Hoa Thi Nguyen, 73, of San Jose, Calif., died Wednesday of liver cancer.

She was born in Saigon, Vietnam, to Dien Nguyen and Du Huynh.

Hoa married Nghia Nguyen on Nov. 17, 1959, in Saigon. They and their children came to Albany after the fall of Saigon.

She is survived by husband Nghia Nguyen of San Jose; son Tuan Nguyen of San Jose; daughters Phuong-Anh Nguyen of San Jose and Ngoc-Phuong Dahrens of Albany; sister Suong Nguyen of Beaverton; and five grandchildren.

Services are this weekend in San Jose.
