Berna R. Young, 70, of Crooked River Ranch, formerly of Lebanon died Friday, Aug. 1, in Redmond.

She was born in Prineville to Zona and Bernie Fender. She married Gene Young on July 4, 1954 in Powell Butte.

She was a beloved wife, mother, sister and grandma. She loved to go horseback riding, loved all animals, and loved to read.

Berna is survived by her husband of 54 years, Gene; son Rick and wife Kathy; daughter Torrie and husband Bill Snieder; sister Davina; twin sister Merna; grandchildren Justin and Marcy; and three great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to any Humane Society.
