Doyle Edgar Transue, 92, formerly of Albany died May 9 in Arizona.

He was born in Quinter, Kan., to Floyd and Rosa Estella (Corricks) Transue.

Doyle serviced his country in the U.S. Army in France during World War II. After the war, he settling in Albany, where he owned his own cement plant. He later moved to Phoenix, Ariz., where he owned a store, the Purple Cow.

His sweetest memories were made and best days were spend with Arlene, his second wife, at the Double Bar, a ranch owned by Charles and Barbara Dunlap III in Peeple's Valley, Ariz. Doyle loved hard work, fishing, gardening, off-roading and a good cup of coffee with friends. He will be missed.

Doyle is survived by his sisters Mildred Williams, Dorothy Stapler and Margaret Case, all of Oregon; brothers Clifford and Roscoe Transue of Oregon; step-children Debra Gurth, Laura Squires and Lynda Caley and step-grandchildren Lisa and July Hartman, Daniel and Andre Squires, and Alyssa Caley.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty; second wife Arlene; brothers Melvin and Merle; and step-son Daniel Shields.
