Vera G. Partin, 79, of Springfield died Thursday at an adult care home.

Her parents were Gustin and Ludmilla Bogodoohoff of Russia, they fled to China during the Russian revolution in the early 1900s. Vera was born in Manchuria, China.

Vera immigrated to the United States in 1946 from Shanghai, China, after marriage to her first husband, Ray L. Freeman. After arriving in the States she taught herself to speak English while she was raising her three sons, Ray, Ron and Larry in Sweet Home.

After her divorce from Ray Freeman, she later married Bill Partin and settled on a small farm in Rainier. She was a homemaker, and her true passions were knitting for family and friends, and farming. She knitted hats and booties for hospitalized children up until she passed away. She moved to the Eugene and Springfield area in 1995 and remained there until her death.

Vera is survived by her sons, Ray Freeman of Junction Cit, and Ron and Larry Freeman of Sweet Home; brothers Alex and George Bogodoohoff of Brisbane, Australia; sisters Valentina, Nadia and Luba of Brisbane, Australia; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchidlren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Partin; and grandson Larry Freeman.

A funeral service will be at St. Mathews Episcopal Church, 4110 River Road, Eugene, OR 97404. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
