Shannon Rae Harlan, 51, of Lebanon died Friday at her home.
Shannon was born in Santa Rosa, Calif., the daughter of Leland and Virginia (Cadwell) Harlan. She was raised by her stepfather and mother, Richard and Virginia Hawk, in Concord, Calif., where she attended school.
Shannon worked as a paramedic on the Henry 1 helicopter and was one of the first female paramedics in the state of California and the first paramedic in Sonoma County, Calif. She had lived in the Lebanon area for the past nine years.
Shannon loved caring for animals and could not turn away a stray animal.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister Jenny Harlan.
She is survived by sister Kris Amoureux of Jerome, Idaho; aunt and uncle Grace and Rod Halling; lifelong friend Jenna O'Neil; nieces Angela O'Sullivan and Minema Windham; nephew Joseph Amoureux-Hawk; and great-niece Joslin Amoureux-Hawk.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Lebanon Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Huston-Jost Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
